Please come to this first ever Benefit Art Exhibit and Auction for Native American Activist and Political Prisoner, Leonard Peltier.  The event will include special performances, speeches, food and drink. Leonard is currently incarcerated at the Federal Penitiary in Lewisburg, PA for his 35th year.   All proceeds from this exhibit will go to the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee in North Dakota.  This non profit organization is run by Leonard's sister Betty Ann Peltier-Salano and his niece Kari Ann Cowen.  Kari will be a guest speaker at the opening reception.  Also speaking will be Michael Kuzma, Leonard's attorney for the past 25+ years.   So many people have come together to support this event, they have lent their time and talent because they believe in the struggle that Leonard has been dealing with since the events of June 26, 1975 changed Leonards life forever.

Visit www.whoisleonardpeltier.info if you would like to know more facts about Leonard's case.    It has been my privilege to work with Betty and Kari from North Dakota, it has been their dedication to Leonard's case that planted the seed for this show and the long time loyalty of many other supporters here in the bay area that brought it all together.  Many thanks to Pennie Opel Plant who is organizing the benefit auction on June 6 and to renowned Native American artist Michael Horse who will be the auctioneer for that event, their commitment to the bay area Indigenous Community is legendary.
